Tutorial
This guide walks you through the fastest way to go from a job list → routed technician day sheets → CSV export for your CRM.
Before you start
- Create an account (or sign in).
- Add your maps key when prompted (required for geocoding in local builds).
- Add your technicians (Technicians panel).
- How to get a key: follow your maps provider documentation to create a key and enable maps/geocoding services.
Tip: The maps key (if used) is stored in your browser for convenience. If you switch browsers/computers, you’ll be prompted again.
Step 1 — Add Technicians
What to do
- Open the Technicians section.
- Click Add Technician.
- Enter names exactly how you want them to appear on exports.
Common issues
- If you refresh and don’t see technicians, confirm you are signed in and that the save succeeded.
- One user per tenant (beta). Each account has its own technician list.
Step 2 — Import Jobs (CSV or XLSX)
Recommended columns
Your file can vary, but these fields produce the best results:
- Customer
- Address
- City
- State
- Zip
The most important thing is a clean, complete address. PO Boxes and incomplete addresses will not route well.
Step 3 — Validate the Map
- After import, confirm jobs show on the map.
- If a job is missing or placed wrong, fix the address in your file and re-import.
Geocoding results can vary. Treat the map as your quick “sanity check.”
Step 4 — Schedule / Assign Technicians
Use the scheduling tools to assign jobs to technicians and dates. The goal is a workable day for each technician.
- Start with your target date range (one day or week view depending on your workflow).
- Assign technicians and dates; then run routing/optimization.
Step 5 — Route / Optimize
Run routing to order each technician’s stops efficiently.
- Watch for outliers: a single distant job can blow up the day.
- If a route looks wrong, verify addresses first.
Routing results are estimates. Always confirm the final plan makes sense operationally.
Step 6 — Export CSV for Your CRM
- Click Export CSV.
- Open the CSV to confirm technician names, dates, and route order look correct.
- Import into your CRM/scheduler (or print as a day sheet).
Best practice: keep your original import file as the source of truth for any edits, then re-import.
Quick Checklist
- Maps Key Map loads and geocoding works
- Techs Technicians list saved
- Import All jobs appear on the map
- Route Routes look reasonable (no extreme outliers)
- Export CSV contains technician + date + stop order
